I love firefox, and have downloaded FireFox 3 beta 2. I can already tell there is a lot more functionality. I do miss some of my extensions though, but they’re coming soon. (I hope) Get your FireFox 3 now!
MySpace Developer Platform launching February 5th
January 31, 2008
MySpace has just announced that they will be launching their developer platform on February 5th. You can pre-register now by going to http://developer.myspace.com (requires login).
The MySpace Developer site will empower you to:
- Learn and play with the MySpace Developer Platform and obtain core documentation
- Test and Tinker OpenSocial applications using the MySpace Container
- Build and Submit applications with our “Application Builder” that installs on live MySpace profiles
While MySpace is admittedly late in opening up their code for developers. They have been observant of the challenges other social networks like Facebook have had to deal with. Such challenges include monetization, privacy, and data ownership. By not diving in right away MySpace has a very good idea of what it’s users want and have avoided certain growing pains. Very smart if you ask me. MySpace has been innovative enough, they’re showing their age…lol.
MySpace has kept an open relationship with widget developers all the while taking a back seat until this February when the sharing begins. What can we expect from the sharing of MySpace code to developers? A more rich and granular experience overall for the many millions of users such as improvements in the friends list. It’s really way too early to tell exactly what will become of MySpace but if competition dictates change, take another look at Facebook.

Is your website Web 2.0 certified?
January 29, 2008
I found this really cool website called certifyer I’m not taking it seriously. Or should I? Check out what the criteria is (see check boxes on the sites main and only page) and you tell me. I found the site to be fun anyway, and hey…myspacemedia.net IS web 2.0 compliant as it turns out. Well, only 38% compliant? = -(
